Experience the ultimate retreat at this serene getaway on Burntside Lake with a classic sauna and electric fireplace. Nestled just 65 feet from the lake's crystal-clear waters, this peaceful haven offers year-round tranquility, only 15 minutes from town. Recently renovated with a charming nautical theme, the home is perfect for relaxation. Enjoy the expansive sand beach and private dock during warmer months. In winter, the bay location provides an ideal setting for snowshoeing adventures.

Good to know

On a sandy shoreline, the property is uniquely flat, allowing for ease of access during all seasons. The elegant, yet comfortable home is approximately 1000 sq ft and includes 2 bedrooms, a dining table for 4, modern shower, and a large sectional couch. The east bedroom is larger and has a queen bed. The west bedroom is smaller and has two twin beds. The living room has a large sectional couch. We supply all your basic kitchen needs, linens, extra blankets/pillows, towels, and basic toilet items. You will fall in love with the landscaping, docks, beach, and outdoor patio. There is a patio table, grill, and several Adirondack chairs outside for your enjoyment. The lake is clear and shallow, even quite a distance from shore. We also provide a kayak, canoe, and paddleboard to make your outdoor experience something truly special. We will leave you a list of local spots we like to visit on the lake, as well as a map to the snowmobile trail for winter exploration! This was a year-round private residence, so it well maintained and comfortable.

Other Details to Note

We provide good internet for this remote lakefront location, making it possible to work, stream, and stay connected during your stay. The home also includes a Smart TV for your entertainment. Cell service is generally available, though it may vary depending on your provider. If needed, Ely also offers several coffee shops and a coworking space in town. To rent boats or pontoons on Burntside: Lake View Lodge, they will deliver to public boat launch on the lake. Call in advance. While we have a fire pit, we do not provide firewood. DNR approved firewood can be purchased locally at many of the gas stations in town. The DNR prohibits transportation of firewood from outside of the Ely area in attempts to slow the spread of invasive species.

This is private neighborhood with very kind and helpful neighbors. We do ask guests to be mindful of our neighbors by keeping their noise levels and activities respectful.

Guest Access

You have access to the entire property. There is 250 feet of lake-shore and 2 acres of property. The driveway is private and the neighbors are a fair distance away, as you are in a secluded bay. Ely can get significant snow in the winter. We will be out to snowplow each morning, however, the road is not conducive to small front wheel drive vehicles. You could struggle if there is a large snow storm. All wheel and/or 4 wheel vehicles should have no issues. The Yacht Club Cabin was great! We loved the private location and the cute, cozy cabin. We enjoyed the quiet lake, the fire pit and outdoor spaces, and cruising around on the canoe was very fun (bring a life jacket)! The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was pretty well stocked. We had a swan, some geese and a few ducks hanging out in the lake for most of our stay, and even saw a few otters pass by. Ely is a beautiful area with plenty to offer adventurers like us! We tried the Frisky Otter and Brain Storm coffee, both were good too! Thanks for hosting us! We will definitely be back!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would highly recommend this place. Everything was exactly as described. The space was clean, comfortable, and felt very welcoming from the moment we arrived. One of our favorite parts was the peaceful surroundings and the cozy cabin. You can tell the hosts put a lot of thought into the details, which made the stay feel extra special. The location was perfect for hiking and exploring nature, and communication with the hosts was easy and smooth the entire time. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and relaxing getaway.

Our stay was incredible! Kelly was fantastic and communicated easily and quickly with us. The Yacht Club was beautifully tucked into the trees with a breathtaking view of Burntside Lake. (Another highlight was enjoying nightly sauna time at Kelly’s outdoor sauna.) Northern Minnesota surprised us with its beauty and serenity. I promise we will return!

Staying at Kelly's cabin fulfilled that image I had for decades of the perfect winter retreat up north. The setting and the cabin itself were perfect - everything we needed to be comfortable inside and still enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. I hope we get to return!!!
