Imagine waking up to the gentle lapping of crystal-clear waters against the shore, just 65 feet from your doorstep. This beautifully renovated home on Burntside Lake offers the perfect blend of cabin tranquility and adventure, all year round. Located only 10 minutes from town, you'll enjoy the best of both worlds—seclusion and convenience.

Good to know

On a sandy shoreline, the property is uniquely flat, allowing for ease of access during all seasons. The elegant, yet comfortable home is approximately 1500 sq ft and includes 2 bedrooms, a dining table for 6, modern shower, and a large sectional couch. The kitchen and living room are an open concept, with the bathroom and laundry room are located adjacent to the kitchen. The east bedroom is larger and has a queen bed. The west bedroom is smaller and has two twin beds. The living room has a large sectional couch. There is an additional fridge freezer for extra cooler space. We supply all your basic kitchen needs, linens, extra blankets/pillows, towels, and basic toilet items. You will fall in love with the landscaping, docks, beach and outdoor patio. There is an 6 person patio table, grill, and several Adirondack chairs outside for your enjoyment. The lake is clear and shallow even quite a distance out from the shore. We will leave you a list of local spots we like to visit on the lake, as well as a map to the snowmobile trail. The property faces north and overlooks the lake. When conditions are right, it is not uncommon to see northern lights. This was a year-round private residence, so it well maintained and comfortable.

Other Details to Note

We have satellite internet, it has the best signal available in the are. You should be able to do most any work. We have TV/cable and a DVD player. This is the best internet available for the remote location. Cell service is generally available, but can be spotty depending on provider. There are several coffee shops and a new coworking space in town, if needed. *** WINTER ROADS*** Ely can get significant snow in the winter. We will be out to snowplow each morning, however, the road is not conducive to small front wheel drive vehicles. You could struggle if there is a large snow storm. All wheel and/or 4 wheel vehicles have no issues. To rent boats or pontoons on Burntside: Lake View Lodge, they will deliver to public boat launch on the lake. Call in advance. While we have a fire pit, we do not provide firewood. DNR approved firewood can be purchased locally at many of the gas stations in town. The DNR prohibits transportation of firewood from outside of the Ely area in attempts to slow the spread of invasive species.

House Rules

Please enjoy the property but leave it as you found it. Minimal campfires are welcome so long as a burn restrictions are not in place. The long dock sits in 4 feet of water, inboard motors may not be able to dock. Pontoons are fine. The water system is lake fed, we drink the water, but if you are uncomfortable, please bring your own. We have a private septic system, so please do not flush or drain anything additional into the system.

This is private neighborhood with very kind and helpful neighbors. We do ask guests to be mindful of our neighbors by keeping their noise levels and activities respectful.

Guest Access

You have access to the entire property. There is 250 feet of lake-shore and 2 acres of property. The driveway is private and the neighbors are a fair distance away, as you are in a secluded bay. Ely can get significant snow in the winter. We will be out to snowplow each morning, however, the road is not conducive to small front wheel drive vehicles. You could struggle if there is a large snow storm. All wheel and/or 4 wheel vehicles should have no issues. I had such a wonderful stay at this cabin! The check-in process was super easy and stress-free, which made arriving even more enjoyable. The view of the lake was absolutely beautiful — perfect for relaxing mornings with coffee or peaceful evenings watching the sunset. The location itself was quiet and serene, yet still close to fun activities and things to do nearby. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. I’d definitely stay here again!

Find us

You can park several vehicles on site. You are 10 minutes from the Ely DQ. You will take 88 to the Echo Trail to Somero Road. Somero Road is the next left after Bass Lake Trail. If you are in need of a boat rental, let us know, we can provide referrals.
